Dort herrschen hervorragende\nBedingungen f\u00fcr eine hochwertige astronomische Beobachtung des\nMittelmeerraums.\nEs ist mit einer Vielzahl von Instrumenten ausgestattet, die es \u2013 im Verh\u00e4ltnis\nzu seiner Gr\u00f6\u00dfe - zu einem der am besten eingerichteten\nBeobachtungszentren der Welt machen.<br>An der Sternenwarte werden interessante und wichtige Forschungen\ndurchgef\u00fchrt. Beispielsweise werden aktive galaktische Kerne betrachtet,\nwas eine koordinierte Beobachtung auf verschiedenen Wellenl\u00e4ngen\nerfordert. Von besonderem Interesse sind gleichzeitige Beobachtungen mit\nden R\u00f6ntgenstrahlen und den optischen Wellenl\u00e4ngen.<br>Ein gro\u00dfer Teil der Zeit widmet sich die Sternenwarte der Observation mittels\nR\u00f6ntgen mit Teleskopen wie RXTE, XMM-Newton und Chandra.<br>Regelm\u00e4\u00dfig werden Veranstaltungen wie ein \u201eTag der offenen T\u00fcre\u201c\nangeboten um der \u00d6ffentlichkeit die Fortschritte in Wissenschaft und\nTechnologie zu zeigen.\nDie Besucher erfahren, wie die Sternenwarte funktioniert, welche\nNeuerungen es im Bereich der Astrophysik gibt und
